Located in the municipal administration of Başakşehir in the European side of Istanbul, half way between downtown and the international airport, Ikitelli Sanay is the mayor urban manufacturing zone composed of thousands of small, medium and large production workshop all organized under the same complex.
Equipped with only 50 liras ( +- 15 euros ) 4 young student/designers with little production experience from Bilgi University have 6 hours to find materials, design and produce an object of desire starting from the relationship with the workshop owners.
Costituito da migliaia di piccole, medie e grandi imprese che nel corso degli anni hanno progressivamente lasciato le zone centrali della città, Ikitelli Sanay è il più grande distretto produttivo metropolitano di Istanbul.
Qui, l’inesperienza di 4 studenti/designer provenienti dalla Bilgi University è stata sfidata a produrre in meno di 6 ore un prodotto commercializzabile. Dall’ideazione alla realizzazione passando per la progettazione e la relazione con gli artigiani locali con solo 50 lire ( 15 euro circa ) di budget.
